The Gem Air Fragrance Unit was launched in May 1986 and was installed on a rental basis in areas where there was a need to effectively dispel unpleasant odours.

Gem Air Company was committed to service excellence, and aimed at striving for customer satisfaction by offering an acceptable and pleasant range of fragrances within the washroom product industry.   Expansion took place in 1994 in the form of a Durban branch trading under the name of Fragrant Air, and the companies have continued to grow successfully for many years.

In the year 2000 Gem Air changed its name to Gem-Care Products CC and introduced a wide range of unique washroom products.  The Company has since grown into the success it is today.

In May 2007 Gem-Care Products together with Fragrant Air, became a public company, boasting a staff of some 140 employees and a BEE Score Card of Level 5.

The ongoing commitment to service excellence and that of delivering customers the highest possible standard in the washroom product industry, remains the common goal of Gem-Care Products.
